COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS
Community Relationships Pedregal’s Responsibility reaches the neighboring communities encouraging the development of sustainable social projects.
• Which are Pedregal’s Working Perspectives?
We invite community leaders to join Pedregal’s way of thinking: to grow based on team work, quality and planning.
• How do we Work?
With the projects we are promoting, we seek to improve life quality standards of the surrounding communities in such a way that would be beneficial for both, the communities and the company, cultivating a harmonic environment.
• What are we doing at Pedregal?
We are working directly with community leaders, providing them with management, training, orientation and financing instruments for the creation of projects of impact; all this within a tight coordination with the local and regional governments.
• Which are the Projects we are developing?
- Water Supply for the Communities of Yaurilla, Huamanguilla and El Inca Asoc. We have given these communities a water well that provides water for more than 4,000 people, thus, fostering the formation of a local organization which manages it, ensuring its correct administration. Through this organization, the set into motion of various community projects has been enhanced and strengthened.
- Compiling of Information about Damaged Houses after August, 2007 Earthquake. Pedregal, together with 13 other Agro Exporting Companies in the area, has financed equipment and provided personnel to process the information related to the damages suffered by houses and buildings in the location. This work served as reference and starting point for the District’s Civil Defense Committees Data Base.
- Production Complex for the Development of the Elder and Child Abilities. Aimed at supporting the communities affected by the Earthquake, Pedregal, FIAPAM and Asoc. Adulto Feliz proposed the creation of a Grape-Byproduct Processing Center that involves the provision of 150 tons of grapes from our Company. Moreover, this project also includes the creation of 10 spaces for the care and attention of children under 5. The Government of Cantabria, Spain, has considered our project and included it in a contest for its financing, the results of which will be available in August, 2008.
- Alphabetizing through Handicrafts. Our company joins the Government’s Rural Areas Adults Alphabetization Campaigns providing raw material for the generation of resources through handicrafts, focused on those students who remain in the alphabetization program. |
